Douglas McCombs of Tortoise, Eleventh Dream Day and Pullman makes an auspicious debut as Brokeback on this ear-pleasing seven inch. Douglas uses a series of delay pedals and loops created on bass, stringing them together to create a hypnotic, trance-like state of bliss. Archer Prewitt of The Sea and Cake helps out with some extra juice on one track, plus it includes a Beefheart cover. A must for any Tortoise fan.
